the weather people told us it was coming but it was difficult to believe, what with temps in the 60's only two days ago, daffodils, crocus and hyacinths ready to burst open....but "winter is coming" they said. so yesterday dawned gray and cold.....then the rains came and it got colder and was just. plain. nasty. it turned to sleet for a bit....and then......
SNOW! it was so beautiful to watch...so peaceful. it snowed into the night, enough for schools to announce early that they would be closed today. and this morning? oh. my. wet snow sticking to everything and a bright blue sky. in the end we got only 2 or 3 inches, but it was enough. it's almost all melted now, but for a while, it was winter. and in a couple of days....60's again....so the flowers can finish blooming.
