What is that you believe?

Think about it. When you read the title of this post, what was the first thing that popped into your head? I know it is bad writing style to just throw question after question out there, but here it is. Do you believe in God? Do you believe in heaven? Do you believe that dreams really can come true? Do you know why...or how...? Do you really believe in yourself? Are you able...EVER...to just plow past the fear and do something totally out of the box, spontaneous...maybe even something that is "so unlike you" and might raise a few eyebrows? Is faith the same thing as trust? Are dreams the same thing as hope? Do you realize the impact your choices actually do make on the rest of your life? Looking back, what would you change? And looking ahead, are you brave enough to make that change? These are the kind of questions that we are so prone to answer quickly with the perfunctory "yes" or "of course" without really...REALLY thinking about it. We should be able not only to answer the questions, but know in our hearts what we believe and why we believe it. Now ask yourself this: If you could choose to do one thing...anything...what would it be? And what, exactly, is it that's stopping you?

"Our lives improve only when we take chances. And the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves." -Walter Anderson
