perspective

If you're ever in need of perspective, if you ever question what you have to be thankful for, just go spend some time at your local Cancer Center. Sit and watch the people that travel through that place. Take the time to write down what you see, what you hear, how it made you feel. On a low day pull it out and read it. Then take a deep breath without coughing...brush your hair without worrying if it's still on your head...take a walk on two strong legs...eat a good meal without worrying if it's going to stay down. Look in the mirror at your beautiful healthy skin, your bright eyes. And tell yourself that yes, Life really is Good.

"I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance; to live so that which comes to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that which comes to me as blossom, goes on as fruit."
